Growing up in Korea, Korean elderly citizens were held in high regard as patriarchs/matriarchs of the family. Of all virtues, “Respect and obey your elders” is the most important virtue growing up.
I was taught to be respectful and grateful for what I was given. Another understanding is “elders know best.” They are full of life experiences and wisdom. During my elementary schooling, my grandfather who was frail and blind, I took care of him by assisting before and after school. When my mother moved into the city with my sister, I stayed back with my grandfather until he passed two years later.
Fast forwarding to the present, I have worked as a caregiver 10+ years. Care-giving consisted of private home care and referral of a referral. Helping people live full, independent and dignified lives within the comfort of their own homes have brought many years of satisfaction. Behavioral, emotional support and supervision for those with dementia, Alzheimer’s and ALS patients are a just a few of the services we can offer. I love bringing smiles and laughter to our clients. Occasionally, all they need is a one on one chat of the many life stories they have to offer.
My process for screening all caregivers is simple. Great caregivers must have a genuine caring heart with patience and understanding. All my current caregivers are exceptionally sensitive and dedicated with close supervision.
My occupation is very rewarding and I believe it has been a calling for many years. Owning an in-home care agency will help reach more who are in need of in-home care services.
We look forward to providing you our unique in-home care services.
